We were commissioned by WRAP to produce a Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Treatment Good Practice Guidance, focusing on the treatment and reuse of WEEE at Approved Authorised Treatment

The project aimed to support the current system in place for the treatment and reuse of WEEE, increase the quality and quantity of materials being recovered and increase business opportunities.
- Site visits to treatment and reuse facilities in the UK
- Highlighting legal requirements and guidance publicly available regarding treatment and reuse of WEEE
- Identifying and reporting on existing good practice examples for the treatment and reuse of WEEE
- Engaging with key industry stakeholders
The key benefits of the project included:
- identifying good practice options WEEE treatment facilities can implement to help improve their processes, increase recycling levels and attract more business
- suggesting initiatives facilities can implement to improve traceability and control of their material
- helping to reduce illegal exports of WEEE through these suggested initiatives
- providing a standard that treatment facilities can be measured against
