European Parliament one step closer to final adoption of PPWR

The donation followed a campaign which saw Valpak donate £5 for every battery recycling box ordered by customers in July. This success has also led Valpak to announce it will run its #PowerToDoMore campaign again in October.
The money raised will be used to support the charity’s MoodMasters programme. MoodMasters is a 12-week workshop for anyone living with low mental wellbeing or mental ill health who would like a greater insight and strategies to help them manage their mental health more effectively. Currently, the programme is delivered to anyone aged 16+; however, it is hoped with the help of Valpak’s fundraising this could be developed for children and younger people.
Commenting on the campaign, Valpak’s CEO, Steve Gough, said:
“The last few months have been especially hard for many people, so we’re delighted to be able to help Springfield Mind in delivering and expanding their MoodMasters programme at this time. It has also been great to see the increased uptake of battery recycling boxes over this period. This follows what was quite a significant downturn in battery recycling during lockdown. The social and environmental value generated by this campaign has convinced us to run it again throughout September when I’m sure it will be equally successful, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Springfield Mind.”
Valpak’s battery service offers free collection to increase battery recycling in the UK. Businesses and other organisations can order a free box to collect batteries from customers, students or members of the public. This enables people to dispose of their waste batteries correctly and know that they are being recycled and diverted from landfill.
